If you can get 50 miles in 3 hours, you just covered 3 days hiking.... Even if you need to sit in place for two days to get your next charge with your portable folding solar panel, you are still ahead of pace and remaining fresh and strong.. my 200 watt folding solar panel only weighs 14 pounds... My 90 watt folding solar panel weighs about half that...

There will always be sunlight; there may not always be gas... Like all preps, ebikes have a place in certain situations at certain times... Unfortunately we can never be certain which preps we will need until we end up in a specific SHTF scenario... Prep one if you can... And enjoy it in the meanwhile...

If your looking for what size solar panel you need the math is volt x amp= watts. It will tell how long it will take to charge with a small or large solar panel

Total weight capacity unfortunatly includes the 65lb bike. If you fully load it to max weight and only use 50 percent of battery the rane is 10 miles at best?

Pretty cool setup. Seen similar in the RV/VanLife community, using the Ebikes to make supply runs and avoid moving their RV from camp.

I built my E-bike (UPGRADES) (1)debadge the bike with a decal removal disk it's a 5" rubber disk that goes on your drill @harbor freight $5 (2) daul motor 2 1000w geared hubs 2 wheel drive one thing you can fly up hills and better offroad trails and you can switch to front wheel or back or both so if one goes out you have a stand by...(3) solar panel vinyl, you wrap your bike with it and charge the secondary battery while you're riding. Yes, I did buy an extra battery (4) put an alarm on it to draw distraction in a getaway plus thief. Deterrent... and you should spend 10% of a bikes worth on locks...(5) gps tag drop-in seat post of frame or in the handle bars... and yes, you can drive yours on the road it's a class 2...mine is class 3 and I ride it on the roads but on government or state park class 2 only.... The military uses Surron 65 mph...And one more thing you know you can unlock that E-bike push you pas buttons at the same time hold till display blinks hit you up button till you see 08 blinking then hit information button on the side mph will blink should read 32 mph hit you up button again turn it all the way should say 63 mph hit information button again 08 blinking then turn off E-bike you just unlocked it ...

I'd rather rely on a fuel based motor bike than a electrical one

I'm not a fan of the E-Bike. The weight of it will become an issue, especially for those who live in hill country. If you plan on being/ staying/ heading to flat land, it can be an asset. Otherwise, it WILL become a detriment. The 40 lbs. it weighs represents another 5 gallons of water/ food/ etc. that I want to have. None of us can eat a bicycle.

Would be nice to have solar panels that you could roll up in the frame.. to charge the bike.

I build and design military grade batteries for various applications. My advise would be get a 3kW hub motor and a high power battery, not only the bike will be completely silent, but it'll go at decent speed considering one can pedal up to 20mph

With a mechanical bicycle you might want to stash extra parts but with an e-bike I think it would be important to try to stash a battery and maybe have some solar panels that you can set up or already have set up somewhere else. Just like any piece of equipment we would probably want to have some parts and repair items for it now I don't know which e-bikes are supposed to be the best but even if you can get a couple of cheap models you can have a couple in different places

EMP attacks would also complicate things.

I wanna get something with pedals, maybe those high range aniioki pedal ebikes, faster than walking and cycling, you can even get one with 2wd which gets you to even more places, all electric components broke and you cant fix them? take em out and you now have a bicycle.

need a fairing, bro, need to travel at night, or get shot. Then a bit of fishline or thin wire, strung across the road will take your head clean off.. Amazon sells solid rubber bike tires and various panniers for holding stuff, , Consider walking alongside of the bike, letting it carry 100+ lbs of gear and food. consider 50 lbs more of same on a bike trailer, towed behind the bike. Amazon sells a spring-clamp for mounting your silenced autorifle across the handlebars. If you go with inflatable tires, you need a pump, spare tube and tire repair kit
