that gasket cutting over the hinge is interesting but the company asks that you cut 3 pieces and skip the hinge. the hinge is going to bend the gasket each time opening andclosing and eventually warp it perhaps. I dont think theres is serious water leak from those spots

The swing out door is low because... just guessing here... he did not follow the instructions that clearly state to leave the 5/8" shims in place to ensure proper height alignment with the fixed panel.

I would STRONGLY encourage you to NOT use caulk as mentioned several times in the video. Use SILICONE for sealing the glass. Silicone is more mold resistant, longer lasting and stronger.

Do you have problem of getting leak of the 2 pivot locations and the glass wall gap? Is the bottom step tilted toward in the shower so that no water leaks out? Thanks

You guys scare the shit out of these DIYers first time or not. It doesn’t take forever like these videos claim. Do the instructions suck? Well, how good are your reading comprehension skills. If you see one that doesn’t get mechanics or construction then simply hire someone to install it. It isn’t hard. It does t take forever. Get the right tools. Do the research. Use your head, and go.

Do you know how I can remove the smaller piece of glass that has been screwed and siliconed onto the frame?

Hire a professional. It’s worth the couple hundred extra dollars. And you will end up with a much higher quality hardware and a perfect fit. Not a half inch worth of play.
