This spectacular circular cycle bridge in the Dutch city of Eindhoven has recently been opened to the public. The cable-stayed bridge, designed by ipv Delft, offers cyclists and pedestrians an exciting crossover. With its impressive pylon, 72 metre diameter, thin deck and conspicuous lighting, the cyclist roundabout is a new landmark for the city.

Brilliant, Holland always a step forward integrating cycles with the environment.

I'd really like this over here. I hate trying to navigate intersections, feel so vulnerable on a bicycle.

The only drawback is the extra distance that must be walked by pedestrians who are wearing wooden shoes.

this is dumb though cause it forces bicyclists to climb up the ramp which is difficult for them whereas cars wouldn't need to put in any effort, so it's not as accessible for older or disabled users

But why does all that light shine upwards from the ring inside the bike path?  That is both inefficient and light polluting. Doesn't anyone do astronomy in the Netherlands?

Of course there is no real reason to have a circular ring.  As it is elevated it could be much smaller and square, for example.  But it does look nice.

meh, this is nothing, you all should come and see our DC metro and you will find out its AWESOMENESS, let me tell you the AWESOMENESS then. Last weekend, I went to the metro, peasants can no longer buy paper pass but plastic, which peasants like me had no idea because peasants like me can't afford to ride this much AWESOMENESS. On the ride though, it doesn't matter if its year 250 million, last weekend, today, or any random day generated day, the AWESOMENESS will leave you with a bitter taste due to constant AWESOME FULL OF DELAYS.

it took me about an hour to ride to dc on bike, it took me half as much to go a straight line, unlike the trails.

nice but not intelligent..
.
we do it ulta..
cyclists, slow moving vehicles go on surface road and
high torque cars, etc go over bridges
.
this is more sensible because cyclists don't need more energy to pedal up and go around extra kilimeter.. over the bridge
but motor vehicles can throttle up their gears..

This Dutch have too much spare time and too much money.Istead of beeing concercerned of creating new parks and plant some more trees in aria like din right bank in the video at 0:11, the ONLY EXISTENTIAL PROBLEM of them, is to make a suspended loophole for cyclists ... "GREAT" ... Now make another one for 18 wheelers, over that another suspened one for bus lanes etc :| ...
