I was on Wall Street for 2.5 years... she is absolutely correct.
I left NYC, moved to Virginia, got married became a commercial electrician, opened my own business and still worked long hours... but I made bank.

I was in better shape, owned my own home, paid cash for my vechicals and eventually sold my business and went into sales.

Vivian is spot on. Take a good long hard look at your life and make better choices.

Your best share…you stopped, looked around, and considered what you wanted and needed for you. Best lesson—thanks for sharing!

Refreshing take. Not worth it to spend all your waking hours working.

My husband refuses to go to management at his job. The managers don’t get paid enough to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We noticed most of them were divorced and didn’t really know their own kids. He has a nice paying job that we try to live well under his wage. Good for you for making such a great decision young!

How many hours you put into a job really matters! What’s the point of all the money if you don’t have time to spend it and be happy.

I’m sorry you had to go through that 😢. I’m Asian ( Japanese 🇯🇵) at my last job I went through racism. I put a claim in with the human rights tribunal and 3 of upper management “ quit “ . I just wanted to say, your tips saved me alot and motivated me to invest and save🙏🙏

I hated corporate life, too. Been there. Done that. Wasn’t worth it. After I got sick due to the overwhelming stress I was done. Just not worth your health and sanity.

I’m dead!! I lost my shit when she gave the middle finger to her former boss. When my job changed managers and the new manager zeroed in on me, I was like hell no. That wasn’t in my mind. A lot of people started quitting. Corporate was to stupid to see that she wasn’t a good match. I found another job and quit three days later.

This is absolutely correct. You give up everything to be the all star in those jobs. It’s a good experience for a few years when you’re young but if you want a family or something other than work it’s not reasonable.

Wasn't on wall street but had a similar toxic situation...ditto as she described...have to take a look around and re evaluate. It's all worth it down the line. A lot worth it. Thank you.

You said it, the second best way to get rich is to be young. Good on you for not giving up your youth.

Good for you. Love yourself - you know what they say: “it won’t be written on your tombstone, that you spent more time on the job, than with the people you loved the most.”

You don't need to work on wall street if you know how wall street works.
