Mr. Shaibel was the most interesting supporting character in the series in my opinion. I know they stayed close to the book, but I wish they could have used him more.

This actor is a perfect Shaibel. Hes just the way I imagined him when I read the book (except in the book hes fatter on one side !) lol. The young Beth is also perfect . Ive read the book about 10 times since I got it in 1987. When she finds all the newspaper cutouts in his basement after je dies, I always cry. This movie is amazingly close to the book.
It covers everything !

It always gets me when young Beth asks Shaibel if she's good enough yet. She was so innocent at that stage and honestly had no idea just how much of a gift she had been blessed with. She wouldn't ever have those doubts about herself again until she lost to Borgov.

I’ve just subscribed to Netflix just to watch this. I’ve seen 4 episodes so far and Anya Taylor Joy is mesmerizing. The way she acts without talking just using her eyes is something only good actors can do.
