I don't know what I would do if I was still working a full-time job...
*violin plays* ... I'm dramatic sometimes ;P

9-5 jobs are just so dam boring. The days are so long, but the years fly by.

I've had a 9-5 job for two years now. It's been a great way to survive and pay the bills, but I've been feeling as if my soul is slowly being sucked out. I come home and have no energy to do anything besides be a couch potato. Its a bit sad.

I’ve had a side hustle for years and I recently was so stressed out by management that I bought a bottle of whiskey at lunchtime to cope with it. While drinking it, I realized how f’d up that was and went back to the office, gathered my belongings and walked out. Life is too short to be wasted as an easily replaceable cog in someone else’s money making machine. Having to work 80/hrs a week with no OT pay as a software developer to meet deadlines was stupid when I can easily earn just as much working for myself.

Needed to hear this this morning. "Most people, they live for the weekend, they are always looking forward to Friday when they get off work and then Sunday nights are a dread fest because you're like 'Ugh tomorrow Monday I gotta go back to work, that sucks""I would much rather enjoy everyday like it was a Friday" Love the channel man!

I'm 35 and dont have a whole lot to show for my corporate job I've had for the last 6 years. I dont think I've ever enjoyed any work I've ever done. I'm over it and need to find a way out of the 8 to 5 grind. I want more time with my family and hobbies.

I couldn't have said it any better myself. I hated every moment of the 9-5 life. I work for myself now. I was working at a prison. That job was hell on earth. I took the job at 23. Always wanted to work in law enforcement, but I quickly realize it wasn't what i thought it would be. No unity, backstabbing, constantly needing to prove yourself to every other officer that walks in. Worked there for 2 years, until I got fired a year ago. Bunch of corrupted bitter jerks decided to gang up on me just because i wasn't in their clique lol.

I didn't even bother fighting for my job. Heck. I could have won my job back... But I didn't care. My whole mindset was like this "oh god please just hurry up and fire me so i can collect unemployment". After I got canned, I spent a month in Shenzhen, China. And then i started a business 4 months after I got back to the U.S. money is better, I have a piece of mind, I have some actual freedom. I have i own a semi truck and i hual things as a contractor. When i work... I'm busy for a month straight...but I take 2-4 weeks off at a time when I'm ready to hang up the keys. I can treat every day as if it's a friday. Life is sweet right now

Having to ask for days off& "hope" it gets approved, dealing with lazy coworkers, gossip, etc. I don't miss ANY of that 😎

just take a part-time job and spend the rest of your day doing your own things.

I'm so glad someone is calling out what's in my head all the time. Formal education is NOT THE ONLY THING TO DO

Jobs are not safe or stable in this generation like the previous. Theres too many opportunities to be dedicated to being a Sears manager for 40 years. Those days are over...statistics also show a majority of ppl only stay at a job between 1-3 years on average before either quitting or getting fired. Almost no job last long enough to he stable, working for yourself is the safest option these days

Jordan, I know this feeling VERY VERY well. I felt it TODAY. once you discover entrepreneurship and the possibility of making money in other ways, you almost cant even tolerate a normal job anymore. I still have a job because my product hasn't started selling yet. But once I make 4 to 6k a month profit. I am quitting ASAP.

Secondly. having a 9 to 5 job and saving money is almost impossible for most people. most people adapt their lifestyle to their paycheck, and they end up spending their entire salary on things they think their salary affords them. People are not usually taught to save money. I definitely wasn't. Hence most people are slaves to their jobs.

I used to have a job in the military-industrial complex that I was laid off from, with a boss named Les Boring. LOL, not kidding. My wife and I were artists and she said, why don't you get pen and ink commissions by going door to door? With the prospect of "not boring" before me I began knocking on doors in wealthy neighborhoods of Baltimore & vicinity with my portfolio in hand. I'd look at the type of curtains they had in the windows. My first commission was for $350. and after 10 or so years of freedom roaming the countryside, I ended up getting $2500 per commission, still just the avg price of an architect's rendering but not bad. I developed my own sales system. Doing the art in my basement studio and being out of doors was what I loved, while I dreaded the sales until I got warmed up, then it was fun. I found a niche and worked it.

I left for the same reason. I had great income, but a broken soul. I am healing for 2 years now and still have no stable income, due to my psychological issues I've got after that 9-5 job. I hope one day I will feel safe and happy by doing things I love and having good money from it. Have faith and all will work out.

9 to 5 just takes the soul out of you. I am working for 16 months after graduation. I can't even remember a single memorable moment while I am in job. I am gonna quit after this month.

Let's be clear...70% of people don't have a thousand dollars in savings because they have full time jobs. They don't have a thousand dollars in savings because of what they spend their hard earned money on.
