I recorded this WIP update just before Christmas, but I took several weeks to actually edit and upload - I hope you still enjoy!
I talk about designs by Country Cottage Needleworks, Satsuma Street, and HAED, and also about my homemade scroll frame.

Great video Courtney. My two HAEDs I have started are both 2 over one tent on 25 count. A lot of people are "purists" and think it a sacrilege to do anything other than a full cross, but I like the speed. And to me it is reminiscent of the antique needlepoint or petit point stitches you find pieces done like in antique stores. If you second guess yourself and the coverage (and you will regardless the method you choose) prop it on a shelf and step back from it. That's the way it will be viewed and you will fall in love all over again. Can't wait to see you work on it. I think I like to watch others do HAEDs more than I like to stitch on them myself.

You're back! Oh my goodness your Satsuma Street finishes are gorgeous. Such beautiful, vibrant colors. They'll look beautiful in your powder room. (Also, you are so fancy to have a powder room! 😉)

What a good husband to make you a scroll frame...and it's so big and perfect for things like HAEDs! I'm glad you were able to find one you liked. I'm also not much of a fantasy buff, except for James Christensen. I always love me some James Christensen. 😜

Can't wait to see your progress on all your WIPs, and keep showing us your knitting! It's beautiful.

Hi Courtney, hello from The Netherlands!

This weekend I started cross stitching my first piece ever and I really enjoy it! My wip is a small image of the monsters of Monsters Inc. My 3yr old daughter just loves that movie and this is a present for her.

I found your YT-channel and I really like listening and watching your work during stitching. Thank you for your enthusiasm and for showing us your beautiful work!

Also, thanks for mentioning Satsuma. Now I've got those on my wishlist too :)

I'm starting my Santa's Village next week. Love the fun and support in the Facebook group.

Hi Courtney, your Mermaid Lagoon turned out beautiful:) I love all things mermaid, so that has definitely been added to my wishlist! I have always wanted to try a Satsuma Street chart so now I have the perfect excuse! I also love your gingerbread village as well! Great WIPS :) happy stitching!

I can't tell you all the different things we've done to get my split rail scroll frame to have tension! I think I'll be using wood glue to make the cut into a solid piece. Or buy some solid rods and staple that Aida to it. Any tricks or helpful hints to make it go simi smoothly the first time doing this? Was happy to see your video.

Hi Courtney, Please before starting your HAED and using tent stitch contact Caroline Mazzeo and Teresa Little Stitcher they both were not exactly happy with how the tent stitch was working out. I know it is quicker using tent stitch but to put all that time into stitching a piece and not being ecstatic with the results would be devastating. Look forward to your next video.

You could use canvas to instead of Adia it would be cheaper and it usually is sold 60" wide

who was the designer for your two finishes tthey look amazing. I would put them behind glass if it was me...I feel it protects them better....I would also like to see what others think about that as well :) I had not thought about people wanting to touch mine...I am so protective of oils from fingers getting on my pieces..
