The pre 77 crash Lynyrd Skynyrd started in 1964 they were High schoolers. They had a shack in the woods on the river. They called it Hell House and they went and practiced daily from early morning thru the night. That is why with their god given talent and the devotion to making sure they were masters of their instruments. Is why they were always so tight on stage. The band that calls themselfs LS these days only has Gary in it.

This is Steve Gaines’ song. He shares lead vocals.
Steve Gaines reenergized the band. So tragic.

Ronnie Van Zant was the main song writer. Amazing story-teller style of writing that everyone can relate to. Steve Gaines was an amazing musician and writer. Awful that he was taken so soon.

At any rate, Leon Wilkerson is just tearing up that bass guitar line in this song. But then again he does that all the time it's just that he is usually appropriately perfect to support what is going on and in lockstep of course with Artemis pile. On the drums.

The part about the "You won't find me in an old folks home" is crazy considering both men who were singing it died in a plane crash 3 days after the album was released.

This came out when I was in junior high and I just loved it so so much. Oh my God and you have to understand too this was on the radio all the freaking time. But I was going out and buying their albums as fast as I could. And when I heard that grunt with the key change for the first time I was just like you, I'm like what?! I got to go back and check that out again for sure. And then it's a moment you look forward to. Plus I just love solid Honky Tonk piano when it's incorporated into rock and roll like this so I just love it. Sometime check out the Chuck Berry cover Maybelline from the very first Foghat album which is literally the last song on the entire album and it is just an insane romp. Everything is on fire about that but once again, it's got this incredible just hard driving banging piano in it was just sends me over the edge, last.

Steve gaines did the outro guitar solo on his LP custom that had coil splitter. At least at Asbury pk 7/3/77' he did.

It's hard to notice because they sound similar, but the lead singer, Ronnie Van Zandt, and guitarist, Steve Gaines, trade lines during the opening verse.

This is much different than older Skynyrd as Steve gaines wrote the music & lyrics to this one . First time Ronnie traded lead vocals with another singer . Solo by Steve also . Very differentthan Ed, Allen or Gary . A very very good song . Ronnie loved Steve . Everyone seemed to .

Oh man, had the phrase "comes to a fix" already deprecated in English language in my lifetime? Oh man I feel old. That word was much more prevalent then and you could use it as any part of speech. You could find yourself in a fix. Meaning find yourself in a bind. So if you end up finding yourself in a tough situation, you're not afraid to go ahead and fight to get your way out of it if you have to. You can also say well I'm fixing to kick your ass if you keep talking like that. It just means, I'm fixing, meaning, I'm getting ready to.

I found John due to a RUSH reaction. I like him (here comes the but) but when he reads the lyrics when the song is over I just wanna fall asleep.

This actually is one of their epics I hate to tell you man. But in terms of cheerful totally check out their song called swamp music. Studio cut for sure you will not be disappointed. And it seems like suddenly I do recall from some of your other Rock videos I think maybe Rush which is how I discovered you a couple days ago and immediately subscribe by the way. You were sometimes actually using the term pinch harmonics incorrectly. You were referring to actual straightforward harmonics and yet rush and of course ZZ Top and so many others are known for their Artful use of pinch harmonics which is where you play the actual string and let it ring but and there are multiple ways to do this everybody has their own way, for me I like to use the fingernail of my index finger on the right hand and so the guitar string hits your pic and then that causes it to resonate and then you clip it just barely as a harmonic with your fingernail and then if you've got a decent sustain and or overdriven amp situation, now you can just put your guitar up to where it gets to start to be on the edge of feedback, and you can sustain it you can bend it you can even reach up above the nut by the tuning pegs and press on that string there and make it Quaver you know and anyway they have some fun with pinch harmonics in swamp music not to mention it's just a rowdy freaking wonderful song.
