When people ask me for money, I either say no or I hand it over and let them know it's a gift.

In my early 20's I used to work minimum wage jobs and found myself having more money at the end of the pay period than my friends who had higher paying jobs. Most of their money was payed out in bills. They were always asking me for money and would always ponder how I had more than they did. It was the fact I managed my money and understood my financial situation, I took good care of my things, I walked instead of driving if it was feasible to get around without driving, and I knew where to get meals and food at reasonable cost. I always turned away from lending them money because I knew they would never pay back. I lost many so called friends.

Pay yourself first then invest. Don't save, invest. Let your hard earned money works hard for you!

Could not agree on the first point more. Sometimes buying a more expensive car is worth it too because it won't depreciate in value as much

When you give money to friends and family it should be in a position of giving not expecting them to pay you back.

According to the New York Times, the average savings of a couple reaching retirement is $110k I’m closing in on my retirement and I’m under pressure to grow my reserve of $330k, despite the fact the capital gains you can make on growth stocks far outweigh dividend yields, and even in downtrends folks still pull off 6-7figures gains in months. surely the risk is much greater, but I’d love to know how.

Staying rich is difficult because paper riches are often poorly diversified which adds volatility and risk. People often get ultra rich by hitting home runs, not Buffet style, so failing to diversify after a big run is often their downfall.

1. Spending money can save you money. Agree
2. Investors can get rich, but probably won't. Some who invest have no interest in riches.
3. If you know someone who only cares about your money, get them out of your life.
4. They are your friends and family. Give, don't loan.
5. Sure, sounds reasonable.
6. Time is time. Sometimes it is traded for money. Sometimes it is traded for better things.
7. The money you have is a direct reflection of how good you are at collecting money.

To suggest that a film star is somehow more 'valuable' than say, a teacher or nurse is simply disgusting. This type of ideology disgusts me.
