Straight Down Camera: Angels Landing, Zion National Park

A vertigo inducing perspective from the hike to the top of Angels Landing in Zion National Park. I mounted a GoPro camera to a monopod 4 feet above my head for view straight down as I hiked this popular and exhilarating trail in Zion.

Thanks for this video!  I was there a few days ago and just couldn't do it - too scary.  I got a few hundred yards in and had to go back - this video helps me see what I missed.  I left the Zion Lodge at 5:30 am and walked to the trail head (only about 15 minutes) and beat the crowds - my advise - leave really early and have the mountain almost to yourself.

This video is one the most SPECTACULAR videos I ever watched on YouTube, simply amazing. This trail is for people who are not afraid of heights, with a perfect balance. Not for me. I'm REALLY afraid of heights, I panic, and I fall easily too.   Thanks  for showing that beauty. You are so brave :)

I lived in Sin City for many years. Not far from this location, moved east to FLORIDA.... This reminds me of how much I TRULY MISS ;( the deserts and everything around it. I luv these climbs / hikes and camp locations ;)

I lived right on the Vegas strip. And could be hiking in BFE in less then 45 min in several directions.

I just did this hike a few days ago and granted, I am really afraid of heights but I was petrified to the point of tears a couple of times and total anxiety a few more times. It was by far scarier than Half Dome to me because of the drop offs!!! I don't think the vid makes it look scarier than it is...because it's freaking SCARY as heck!!! However, I did make it all the way. Smacked my damn fear of heights RIGHT in the kisser! :o)
