The 3rd person element is probably the most important element to mods like this making you feel like just 1 part of a larger force. That "Halo Reach Covenant Campaign" did the same thing, and let me tell you, being one amongst an army of scrambling grunts, slowly walking alongside a phalanx of shield jackals, or strafing left and right besides your elite brothers in 3rd person, seeing yourself there with campaign animations and ranks was maybe the most immersive Halo has ever been for me. Period. I want more of that here 😍

Dont forget master chief almost got infected by the flood too, and cortana saved his ass

Playing that lone Marine that survived half of The Library would be basically the final level of Reach as a normal person.
Though, if you survive all the way to The Index, you'd fire the Halo ring array, because Cortana isn't there to stop you by explaining what the Halo ring _actually_ does.
They could still not fire the ring by Guilty Spark saying enough about the ring, for the Marine to realize that it'd wipe out humanity, and he'd refuse and run.

And almost realistically in Halo,
in the marine mod, you're almost instantly killed if you get hit by a flood combat form.

I really wish they made a battlefield style Halo game where you could have big battles and play as basic marines, grunts, and jackals
