CWS M111 (Sokół 1000) | Poland 🇵🇱, 1938.

The #Sokół 1000 is a modified version of the M55 model. The new motorcycle used to meet all the requirements of the military - resistance to difficult road conditions, reliable construction, and ease of use. Originally called #CWSM111, the bike came out a bit outdated technically and quite heavy, even for its class.

However, the Sokół turned out to be incredibly robust and reliable, but quality, as you know, is never cheap. The civilian version of the motorcycle was sold for 4,200 zloty (which corresponded to 800 US dollars or 170 pounds), which was slightly less than the cost of the car of those times.

The motorcycle was manufactured almost entirely from domestic parts. One of the main technical innovations was the soft suspension of the sidecar, which significantly improved the handling and speed of the motorcycle when riding off-road. Production of the Sokół 1000 M111 continued until the beginning of World War II, i.e. September 1939, when Poland was attacked by Germany.
