Theoretically, they could always come in down wind of you though no? Don’t they typically walk with their noses into the wind?

I bought me some paint suits this yr, I been wearing those soaked in scent killer and walnut spray on my boots and rubber gloves, I also got a 4 wheeler to take corn into my spot, I used to pack corn in on my back, I can tell a big difference, I also leave the 4 wheeler idle while I run in and out, short burst, I really buckled down this yr and it shows, thanx Jeff you got me pumped Leaving the 4 wheeler running keeps them from walking in on me while I fix stuff, I had 1.5 yr old walk 5 yards ddw and never nailed me!

That im aware of ive never been winded while in my hangons i hunt 30 feet up deer downwind never catch me on the ground ect ive got winded many times

Hard to do in some of the valley areas around here. The wind swirls and switches every 10 minutes. Gave up on playing the wind and just hunt now.

What is your opinion on using smoke to mask human odor? I have heard that the Indians used to use campfire smoke to make themselves and their clothes less offensive to the wildlife .

Well what I do is just walk all over the woods. just cover so much ground, that my scent is everywhere that the deer go. that way they don't know which direction it's coming from so they smell it everywhere

I believe that you should visit your hunting area often. Allow your scent to be present in the area. The deer will get use to your scent. I use to wash my clothes and take all the precautions. The deer are not worried about new scents now that I stopped trying to hide it. The hunting industry loves there scent control gimmicks they came up with. Don’t fall for it just get the deer use to your scent. I have even watched nice bucks see or smell me and just run out in the field and come right back in the woods within a half hour. I know of a suburb that holds deer and they could care less about what they see and smell because it’s a part of their life. I also know of a working farm that sits partially in a woods that’s always covered in deer. Stop giving deer a reason to be scared of you. Just introduce your scent to them often and it will become normal to them.

I walk to my stand with only my eyes showing the rest of me is covered in Scentlok. Every item I have on me that holds scent backpack muff bow sling has been wiped down washed and never touched by bare hands. I put on surgical gloves befor I even turn off my truck and never take them off until I’m in my truck to leave. and dress out of my truck no matter the temp. And everything is put in air tight containers. Have not yet been busted by deer down wind and hunt where I want when I want. A lot of people know where I get this system from and I’ll leave it at that. Good hunting to all. 🏹🏹🦌🦌🦃

Dude I wash my clothes, wash myself, clean my boots and sray myself down with 2 types of sent away sprays.
Got busted the last 2 days by 2 different giants with the wind in my favor at 90 degree to the deer. WTF else can I do.

Never had this issue, I guess some dudes just smell bad or use deodorant and scented soap or just straight up stink.
