Thanks for another great vid. One thing that I always questioned my boss was derating when you have say 3 current carrying conductors along with several 24 or 120 volt control wires that only carry less then 1 amp. ( feed 1 or 2 motor startets ). He said that you never have to derate for control wires due to very small current flow on them. My father was one of the first eletricians to use type THHN/THWN in our city. When he tried to order it electric supply house never heard of this new type of insulation. Took a couple of samples into my vo tech class and teacher did not like it due to insulation being so much thinner then TW. Told him that THHN/THWN was gasoline & oil resistant and good for 90 degrees C in dry location. He finally came over to my side after reading about it in EC&M magazine. About 45 years ago EC & M magazine had an article where the Philadelphia Gas Company got approval to use say use #2 copper for over 200 amps because it was in area that was guess maybe 50 degrees F below zero for liquidfied natuaral gas pumps.

Accurate and informative, what's the ruling on the neutral a current carrying conductor yes? Three ways and four ways only one extra current carrying conductor yes? Why not list the possibilities where these conditions could exist..?

If conductor is rated as continous use forever based on that chart n all conditions r met why do we add the 25% if using 3hr or more during load calculations?

Ampacity being a continuous rating, and circuit breakers being rated at only 80% of their rating for continuous loads, does this mean that you could have a conductor ampacity that is only 80% of the breaker rating?

Is it permissible the have a 20 amp circuit, 20A ocpd/12awg wire with14 awg pigtails to the receptacles? Just so you can backstab. Thank you.

Are breakers degraded based on high temperature as in the southwest if I may ask.
