Supreme Novo 18 Wood Burning Stove Review

This video highlights the very popular yet somewhat elusive Supreme Novo 18 freestanding wood stove. I really liked the look and style of this particular wood burning stove but couldn't find any videos, or relevant reviews on the product anywhere online. So I decided to take roll the dice and order this stove (and I'm really glad that I did!)

The Supreme Novo 18 has been awesome and Woodland Direct was fast and professional to deal with. I ordered the hearth pad from a separate company (Drolet) since it was the only place I could find the low-profile look that I was going for while meeting installation specs.

The Supreme Novo series also has 2 size larger stoves that you can order: The Novo 24 and the Novo 38. Our house is just over 2,000 sq. ft, and this Novo 18 is on the first floor which is mostly open except for 2 back bedrooms. Although it takes wood stoves an hour or so to reach optimal operating temperature, this stove will keep the area around 73 degrees with an averaged size fire. The upstairs gets some heat since it rises, but we don't really want it to get as warn since that's where we sleep.

This stove is super easy to operate and holds coals very nicely. The opening is pretty much EXACTLY 18" so you'll want to utilize logs that are 16" if at all possible. Thanks for the video. I’ve been considering this model for some time now. Would you happen to have any pics of the outside of your house where the piping comes out? I’m curious to k ow what this looks like and how far up you had to go with it.

Hi Wesley, Thank you for the review. We are considering the Novo 24, but my husband has read some reviews that have said you need to let the wood burn all the way down to the coals before opening the firebox or smoke billows into the room. Another negative review said that the outside air intake doesn't go directly into the firebox causing cold air to spill into the room, and another issue that the fan just mixes air on the outside of the stove and doesn't blow air past the firebox. Can you comment on those 3 things? Thanks.
