When I started playing pool like once in a month I had a crooked arm because I'm 1.95m tall and my bridge arm was always stretched. My back swing was also very short, otherwise my cue would fall of my bridge hand.
Then I bought an extension for my cue and pool became a different game for me. I had more stability and a screw shot was 10 times easier to manage.

Now my cue tip is broken and I have to wait for it to get repaired
