Aha... 6 years ago when guys in my area drift with 8.5T, 10.5T & 13.5T, I was beating them with a 35T brushed, as with my racing days in 2wd buggy back in late 80's to early 90's, it's not just the power but traction and control makes you consistent and win races. Above all, HAVE FUN!

Loving this series. I have been drifting for a while, but all mine are AWD. Really thinking of getting into the RWD scene this spring. Keep up the great work Joe.

Go to RCMart’s site and search for 21.5. There are two that will pop up right away that are a really good value.

Lol! I got the smoothest car at the track and the fastest car also by very far. Im running 7.5t. Motor speed does help I agree but the real challenge is the guy behind the remote. I also stop running drag brake, when using drag brake, you cant let the wheel spin freely in drift to slow down, the wheel are either stop or spinning on gaz

On my hpi sprint 2 drift car, I needed a traxxas 12 turn motor. in order to get it, to drift on our driveway. I had a hpi 15 turn on it, with a hobbywing esc.

Its weird. I disagree with all of these tips for the Sakura chassis. In our RC Drift group the highest turn motor used is a 10T. Everyone else uses 8.5T. Not sure why you would need a motor with that much torque. Is the drift surface high grip?

check out my D4 Joe, it's got a smoke exhaust. Your right about running into other people drift cars because some have alot of time into them with painting and scale features. I was running a 5.5 turn in my D4 and it was just way to much just uncontrollable i now have a 17.5 way more better:)

Hey sorry to bother you but could you link me a kinda budget brushless 21.5T motor and brushless speed control? The one(s) in the description are discontinued and I’m also new to this AND am also getting a Sakura D4 RWD so if you could please help out it would mean a lot! Thanks!!

Im setting up a brushless system on my car and was wondering if I could use a 1200kv motor. most of my drifting practice takes place on rough concrete.
