Tearing Down the LQ4 6.0L to Prep for Slammed 52 Installation

In This video we clean up the 6.0L LQ4 LS Engine to get it ready for a test fit in the 1952 Chevrolet 3100 aka the Slammed 52. I have owned this truck for the longest of any of my vehicles and it is time to show some love. I bought this 6.0L LQ4 and want to replace all of the seals and gaskets. I also will be putting in a small cam and LS6 Heads. In this video we tear down the motor and start the clean up process. I did remove several parts but as I started to think about what ifs. I decided to take it to my machine shop for new rings and bearings. If all looks good I will reassemble with the parts and start mocking it up in the truck. I am excited to get it set in and start plumbing the fuel lines and wiring it up. This 52 3100 will be on the channel as long as I am making videos which I can't say will be true for any other vehicle. Follow along as this build is just getting started. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

I think ur making the right decision on the engine

I hear you about the engine. While you're in there is a good idea. You're not out anything fleshing it up. Like you said. Better now then to pull it out and basically paying twice for the same job. And hopefully not hurting it trying to save a buck. Keep up the great content.

Good call. Since you plan on keeping the 52 I think this is a wise decision for the engine. Once and done. ✌🏻

What does it usually cost you to have a motor freshened up at your machine shop? Just wondering if there is a difference between what you pay and i usually have to pay. Thanks.

You are going to at least paint the block on this one..right? Are you going to get one of those Delmo kits to make it look like an old school small blocks? That would look really good in that old truck! Imo the patina builds look great with detailed engine compartments and interiors.

The 52 is looking around at the ws6 and the 55 and it’s getting pretty nervous.
