Показать описание
This is Alta in Arctic Norway. Here by the fjord, are thousands of rock carvings made by hunter-gathers.

In fact, Alta has more rock art created by hunter-gatherers than anywhere else in northern Europe, suggesting it was a significant meeting place from the year 5000 B.C.

The carvings depict communication between the living and spiritual worlds, offering insight into the beliefs of prehistoric people. They show social life, rituals, and interactions with the landscape, including hunting, fishing, and boat journeys, with various animals depicted.
