I'm not one to attempt these variable replacement style puzzles, but the final replacement of the variables with their values is very satisfying to watch.

39:01 with some difficult hahaha
Today the biggest clue I got with you was: use letters! It became easier this way, altough I have a problem matching the letters pairs (like ab is equal to 23 in the V).
Thanks one more time!!! 🤗

Finding the magic square was my first priority, and I was able to limit the center digit down to 9 possible cells, mostly but not entirely in box 5. Not exactly the same as you had -- I saw that r4c6 couldn't be it, because r4c7 is on an X and having the 5 be there would make r4c5 and r4c8 contain the same digit. But I didn't spot the 5 in box 9, so I had r6c7 as another possible magic square center. Since there were so many options, I just switched to coloring XV cells as usual, and only came back to finding it near the end of the puzzle.

And just like you, I used a second set of colors for the lower right of the puzzle, until I was finally able to match them up to the first set.

My time today was 24:36, solver number 401.

Excellent puzzle, lot of fun, great solve. Solved it in 25:47.

I used 8 colors rather than letters. Somehow it is easier for me. At 32:50 you say that you will try not to use the magic square until you color the whole grid, but then not much later at 34:27 you use it :(. The coloring can be finished without using the magic square.

@sudokusleuth Do you have any advice on how to pick the abcd? You went with box 4 and I went with column 1 and your's worked out much easier than mine.

I never remember the magic square in its entirety, so this one needed a little trial and error, but it's done!

Using Blue and Red for High and Low... and then alphabets AD; BC (for Vs) and AH; BG; CF; DE (for Xs) just helps the logic and helps you do Sudoku easily....

May be something for you to try on this puzzle (in your free time) or another similar puzzle.!

Great solve, Sleuth! A small observation: Box 8 could never have been the Magic Square, since the V in its 3rd column would require a 10 in the cell below it to make the 3rd column add up to 10.

That was a very good puzzle. Not too hard but still took a bit of thinking about. The end part was also very creative.
