The FIDE World Cadets and Youth Championship took place online a few weeks ago. I was nominated to judge the Gazprom Brilliancy Prize. The game was played between Nihal Sarin and Francesco Sonis of Italy. Is Nihal Sarin the next rival or opposition to the throne of Magnus Carlsen?

Nihal studied in my school. I played against him back then, we could not complete the game as the bell rang and we had to leave for our home. I never thought that this small kid would go on to be one of the best players world has ever seen.

NIhal learned that style from Ivanchuk, when he lost during their game.
Good learner ! Bright player !

India is on their way to having a steady stream of elite GMs like Russia.

It could be any of these rising stars. Firouzja, praggu, adewumi, and a ton more. I love chess because your age is nearly irrelevant, it solely depends on your strength and when you lose, you have no one to blame but yourself. However, when you win, the reward is greater than any other game

Hey Levy, you’re probably not ever gonna see this, but I just wanna thank you for your effort and time that you put into teaching us, the viewers, chess. I appreciate every second of your video because, you don’t have any filter when you show up in your streams or videos, its just you showing your love for chess. And remember, you shouldn’t care about the haters, or trolls. I know they can be very discouraging, but as a representative of the people who love what you do, we are here to support you! So once again thanks a lot, you’ve been a huge help to me!

India is gonna dominate the world of chess for years to come, just like Soviet Union/Russia did back in the day..they got 67 GM's.

Francesco's pieces: We have you 3 to 1
Nihal's queen: I like those odds

This makes me appreciate GM's. It's almost like they are playing a different game

One of my favorite quotes is something like
"When two of your pieces are hanging and you can only save one of them, go ahead and offer up a third, because when your opponent finally moves they can only take one of them"- Tahl

Does Levy look like Fabiano Caruana when he shaves?

Not letting Francesco cross the middle is reminiscent of what Magnus did to Levon in his immortal game

Hey Gotham you should make a video showing how to push pawns like in endgames or just in general. It’s pretty intuitive but I still manage to completely lose a winning endgame sometimes because of this. I’m loving your videos by the way! Keep it up!
