Drop Test: Transformer Prime (Asus)

Yeah, there are tons of case manufacturers that make cases for just about anyone. The biggest thing I could recommend is a case with a bezel that goes a bit above the screen. The reason most of these devices break on the side and front drop tests is because there is literally no absorption for the impact. Even a light case can go a long way, albeit I would definitely recommend a more rugged case if the tablet is going to go everywhere with you.

We do this so people know the limits of the device before purchasing. I've worked Best Buy for enough years to see TONS of broken tablets and phones. At least this way people better understand if they need cases or insurance. -Darren

More scratch resistant than anything. Doesn't help much with drops and spills. At least not as far as we can tell in our drop tests.

You guys should do a drop test on a device with Gorilla Glass and see how it withstands! To my experience, it's pretty strong !

To satisfy the curiosity of anyone wondering how this tablet fares in a face drop test, I own one and my bed is elevated about 4'6" off my tile floor. to my horror it slipped off my bed and landed face down on the floor. To my amazement and extreme pleasure, when I picked it up, no cracks. I'm typing this message out on it, actually. So although it failed the corner test, it passed the face down with flying colors. You must remember. The energy from falling ist around 5 times higher. Because it is much heavier than a smartphone.

I have an iPad 1 and it has survived a couple years. I had an iPod touch for several years and it never broke, in fact the battery died before it broke. I need a new device to take great care of.

And for the record, I got a Galaxy S II and as u guys know it has gorilla glass too..But screen has several tiny scratches and believe me I did not drop it even once and never touch the screen with hard, sharp etc. things :s :D

Gorilla Glass is scratch resistant, not drop from height. Actually u can even scratch it if u push hard a little ;) Don't believe the Gorilla Glass screen scratch tests on internet, that's because we actually can't see the effects because of the camera angle, believe me they can scratch too :D But just not deeply, light scratches let's say :) And u can't see them unless u look at the screen under very bright sunlight or opposite light.

Get this right, I pulled my Tf300T out of my case whilst taking it from my bag, as I opened it, it fell out and hit the tiles, the screen is completely shattered and doesn't have any touchscreen recognition. I dropped this tablet at 30cm max from the fall. And to top it off, I had only got it 2 weeks ago from the incident. Pretty shitty....
