I live here and was born here! Portugal is full of corrupted politicians! Our economy is in the gutter! Young people can’t afford a house just by working and saving money it’s a complete mess. Yeah it’s a nice place to chill and we have great weather and stuff like that but the majority of the population cannot book a yearly vacation simply because they can’t afford it! Our government sucks and it’s full of corrupted people that fill their pockets with the country’s money. It’s revolting.

Hello I am Portuguese and wanted to clear some things up. Firstly, I am sure that the beach that was showed is not in Algarve, it is in Setúbal, Arrábida, and the famous Lisbon Carnival. It exists, but it is not that famous, but we also have some cultural and vibrant carnivals, like Caretos of Podence. And best country in Europe is something subjective, as every country here is very different. Hope I cleared any doubts!

As a Portuguese knowing that Portugal has been going through a najor financial crisis for the past 8 years. The current political crisis doesn't predict anything good for the next elections and criminality has been rising in the bigger cities. Moreover, the housing crisis is now very grave and has been going on since 2011. Most young people do not like digital nomads, due to being made homeless because of them.

Portuguese here, Portugal sucks, the economy is shit, prices have tripled or more for everything just in the last few years, and the wages can't keep up, imagine having a 700$ monthly salary and paying 500(often even more) for your 1room apartment

Or 300-400 for a single room in a shared apartment, that's half your money or even more for just a single room.

Oh their gonna add 50€ to the wage? Well guess what everything is gonna get even more expensive, so you're actually gonna become even more poor than last year !

If you're under 40 there's no reason to be here, move out, get more money or live more comfortably and build your life somewhere else

I love my country but we don't even have houses for us locals, we pay the most expensive taxes in a list of countries . The minimum salary is low 760 euros and political curruption is insane. And this is why most of the locals are running away from Portugal.

The costs of living and housing in the country have been skyrocketing, the salaries are so low they can barely be enough to meet basic needs, there’s less and less doctors wanting to work in there due to low salaries and over working, and foreigners who live in Portugal consider locals to be somewhat rude. Hii I'm Portuguese, I just wanted to clear some thing. That beach isn't in Algarve, it is in Setúbal. But yes, i love Portugal story, is very interesting. You can find castles or old constructions in: Serpa, Beja, Bragança and Lisbon. There are many other castles but I don't know most of them :/.

Well I am in Portugal for the moment and I really love this country! I am sadly heading back to France in a few days... Nature is really beautiful and portuguese people are so nice.
