Hour 1
In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the tidycensus R package for working with US Census Bureau data. Tidycensus allows R users to swiftly access custom extracts of decennial Census and American Community Survey data and formats it for analysis with R’s tidyverse suite of packages. Participants will learn the basics of tidycensus; how to summarize and explore Census data with tidyverse tools; and how to create informative Census data visualizations in R. No prior experience with R is required, and analysts new to R are welcomed!

Kyle, I have not finished yet watching your video. Before I "discovered" the existence of tidycensus, I've been trying to write R code myself to pull data from the Census Bureau's APIs. Understanding what thi package is doing is like the difference between washing your cloths by hand in a bathtub and then hang them to dry versus throughing it in the washing machine that takes care of automatically select the soil level, water temperature, dosage of detergent, and spinning speed.

Thank you so much for developing this package and creating this video. You did something fantastic for HUMANITY!
