Its pretty simple: treat others with kindness and compassion, and you will get through life more or less in one piece

I hate the misconception that intersex and transgender mean the same thing, i know its off topic but it needs to be said, trans people are not intersex and intersex people are not trans (i mean in the general sense not including those who identify as both)

The problem is that using it to mean so many things makes discussions around rights because different definitions need different discussions

You don't have to understand exactly what someone means in order to be kind.

Love this open communication, no one is necessarily wrong, we just are trying to communicate 💖

Trans means "other side of" or "across", while opposite is one of the sides, it also includes every side that isn't the same or the opposite.😅

There is a lot of hate directed at this issue when in fact it does not affect the haters in any way. Just hate for the sake of hating.

In Spanish, Transgénero and Transexual are commonly used as synonyms but then you get the same problem. If a Transexual and a Transgénero are different, why try to use the words as synonyms? People have to define these words once and for all so the rest can treat them respectfully in the correct form.

I have an issue with blurring the definition of words, when those words hold significant legal meanings. This has always been my main personal issue with the politics of transgenderism. That you run into issues, when the classification "Woman" is changed, while you have literal laws and protections assigned to people of the classification "Woman".

I'm a fan of just calling it something else, and then making new legislation around the new words. Rather than combining it with existing words, and then modifying existing laws to conform to modified definitions of words.

I thought a trans person was someone who has transitioned to the other sex OR are about to transition. Are people just changing the meaning of words to fit how they feel now?

I’ll call someone a Chevy truck if they want me to call them a Chevy truck.
If people can’t agree on a definition how to you apply the scientific method?

Sex is not “assigned” at birth. It’s not up to the doctor to decide what sex someone is. Even if you’re totally for the idea of gender being separate than sex, you know that sex is based off of chromosomes and genitalia. It isn’t “assigned” by anyone. You’re just born male or female. You can subscribe all you want to the idea of gender being a social construct but sex is very much genetic and biological. It’s not up for debate.

It’s much easier to just call all these people narcissists

The ongoing obsession with labelling everything with more and more specificity is doing more harm than good. We are overcomplicating society and focusing on the wrong things. That is the reality.

Gay is also used that way, I’m trans and pansexual myself and almost everyone just uses gay to describe any sort of thing relating to sexual orientations

Okay in my mind sex assigned at birth is completely ridiculous terminology. Sex is not assigned at birth, it is what it is (other than the very little percentage of chromosomal anomalies). If you are saying there is a gender identity that is different from your sex that is one thing, but no one goes around “assigning” sex, it just is.

We gotta start narrowing down definitions here because it’s only complicating things.

I don’t get why non-binary is apart if the trans umbrella is negates the whole meaning of being trans
