8. Forårsdag (Anne Linnet) - guitar cover

I made this guitar cover for my mother’s 70 years birthday just like I made “Get Back” by The Beatles, when my father turned 70 years (unfortunately this video has been blocked by YouTube). Two versions were made – this YouTube version and a private version with many pictures included for my mother.

In my childhood my mother listened a lot to Anne Linnet so the choice fell naturally on her. This tune is an emotional one. It’s really about the words You have difficulty saying – the feelings that create a bond between two people. Anne Linnet wrote this song in 1970, but it was first released in 1988 on the album “Jeg er jo lige her”, and on this album she returned to her singer-songwriter tradition.

The song contains some tricky chords where your fingers must stretch over quite a long distance or at least I think so, haha. I had to practice a bit to get it right. The finger picking went faster than I thought beforehand, and then it was also about keeping the tempo going.

Alvin de Leon made the tabs for the guitar cover of “Forårsdag”. What I really appreciate is that he also transcribed the keyboard solo into a guitar solo although it’s a short one. Other than that, he included all the harmonics which give the song more colour. Thanks so much for your help.
