Traveling through space in a conventional manner without expanding space itself such as a warp bubble, at the speed of light would be impossible. Even traveling at a fraction of the speed of light, micro meteorites colliding with your spacecraft would have the energy of a nuclear bomb being released. You could not survive it.

I once heard Michio Kaku (I think he was quoting a different scientist, forgot name but maybe Arthur C Clark?) say that either we are alone in the universe or we are not and both possibilities are equally terrifying.

I totally DISAGREE. Yes there is some danger of aliens being dangerous but to me the risk is worth taking to make contact because there is also the possibility that aliens could be our friends and allies. To me it is worth the risk. I think being alone in the universe is much scarier.

I literally feel emotional comfort when I imagine that there could be other beings out there in the universe.

I truly believe life is in many ways differrent planet differrent life, no one can say there is no life on other planets and say thats a fact, I mean think about it there is life on earth,

Since these planets are so many millions of light years away, even if we did find signs of civilization, isn't it very likely that the signs we are seeing are millions of years old, and they could be extinct by now.

i saw one of these things outside my nyc window. it was 150ft away from me. close. close enough for me to see its form and color. it has flashing multicolor lights on its sides. one soft white light on its belly and its belly was grey. car sized. but had curving edges on its 2 sides, which tapered to sharp ends. i didnt see any propellers or jets on it. most shocking this was that it made no sound whatsoever. silent. these things arent drones, theyre uap.
