Mammy sang this to me(I am Eldest) in Belfast, then my brother and sister, then not again. Yet I knew the first two verses perfectly 50 years later. Third verse ended with ‘a little rest then a world of WORK to do” she thought that was sad. When I wanted a job in the holidays about 13 o4 14 she would say “take it easy - there a lot of work just waiting for you” BTW I wasn’t mad about the change of key in the second verse. It is a lullaby so should be even tempo and key. Agree they sang it beautifully

The third part that begins with "take time to thrive my rose of hope" is seriously unbelievably touching. The voice of the singer is FANTASTIC and fits the lyrics very well. I did indeed cry hearing that part.
