It’s interesting how NASCAR’s lower tier series when it comes to racing in rain or any wet conditions always runs it first before Cup ever does. Once they had a rain tire for road courses, the first official rain race from a NASCAR series was the Nationwide/Xfinity Series in 2008 at Montreal, when Cup’s wasn’t until the 2020 Charlotte Roval. Same with the ovals. The first series to run wets on an oval once available for 2023, was the Truck Series at Martinsville when Cup wasn’t til later at North Wilkesboro. Like what’s up with that?

Fun fact, most tracks in the 80s ran wet races, so many times they would run 20 or so pre laps to warm and dry the track a little, leaving standing water on parts of the track and pits. This includes big tracks, small tracks, and road courses

I’m no mechanic but I gotta imagine you’d be much better off with circular tires vs oval tires 😂
