Sounds like it’s the same voice actor but she seems to have stopped doing the super energetic lines, I do miss hearing things like “Terrific! Even better than mama!” But here she sounds like such a caring parent that I don’t mind, feels more like a mother encouraging her child.

The voice feels so... wrong. That cheery, energetic attitude that perfectly matched the exaggerated facial expressions of Mama is gone. Now it feels like the voice actress is just tired of her job and doing it to just pass

Hearing that there's all sorts of drama and controversy around a new release of this game kinda bums me out. Even if allegations get proven false, sales are still gonna be soured by what was said and misinformation still spreading, and it's not like this series is a hotcake seller as it is. It's always been a cute, kinda guilty pleasure of mine, even if I only managed to play some of the DS ones and a little of the 3DS one. Especially since you can't even find good quality videos of people going through all the foods and minigames save for the first one, pretty much.


Thanks for providing me a little window into what should have continued being a harmless, innocent series. :)

Even tho mama sound a bit less energetic (a lot acc) what impresses me is the concept of the game. Instead of just clicking a few buttons, an interactive experience is made. You can move the joycons as if you are cutting, mixing or kneading which I find really cool. Also the variety of foods and quality is really good!

Though her voice sounds like the kind parent anyone would enjoy having, she sounds.. sad. The finest memory I have of cooking mama is her encouraging really excited, "Woah! Even better than mama!" Is one of those lines which should be said, and said with emotion.

Ah the addition of the dog is rly cute~ it reminds me of the Japanese cooking channel here on yt Cooking with Dog. It suits the game as well since many of the recipes featured in this game are ones that went viral online. If I’m able to get a switch soon then I think I’ll get this as one of my first games.
