Hi how much potassium metabisulfite do you put in one gallon of wine.

after you put in the potassium at the end of this video, how long did you wait to rack into the other carboy which is the next video degassing? did you add the potassium and then immediatly rack to degas or wait a few weeks to degas?

thank you i understand now. so, degas, add potassium, rack to new car boy, add clarifying agent, in my case its going to be bentonite, wait a week so it clarifies, rack then add sulphite and sorbate and then im done? does that sound about right? im still pretty new to all this. but your videos have been a life saver.

I am going through my late dad's home made wines and one of the damijian, is a 2004 white blend which is too acidic.there is a slight unpleasant burn sensation in throat after you swallow..what can I do to lower the acidity in the wine

Well I accidentally just added 4 times dose! Rack immediately but an article said time and let it gas off. I hope it works. A lot of effort into this Raspberry Rhubarb Melomel..

We normally de-gas at the same time as we add the final ingredients. It just makes the process easier; however, there is no magic here, so you can wait to de-gas, if you choose.

Can't you simply remove the amount of wine you need to dissolve the campden tablet right from the carboy? But, I guess tasting it is important as well.
