Keep your personal data secure by locking (or relocking) the bootloader of the Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

I have the Google Pixel 6 right here and in today's video I'll showing you how to lock the bootloader of your smartphone.

Before we begin, I do want to point out that relocking the bootloader will result in the device performing a factory data reset. This is a security measure put in place by Android so be sure to back up as much of your data as possible before you proceed with this video.

There are a number of reasons why someone would want the bootloader of their phone to be locked. Whether you're done experimenting with a custom ROM, or just needed to unlock it so you could downgrade to an older version of Android. Keeping the bootloader locked is important for a lot of people.

Another thing to make note of is for anyone who has modded their phone. For example, do not attempt to relock the bootloader if you still have Magisk installed. . .or if you are currently running a custom ROM or custom kernel, or anything custom on the phone. You need to be running 100% stock firmware if you plant to lock the bootloader of the Google Pixel 6.

Many will even need to go as far as to manually flash the stock firmware images in Fastboot Mode before locking the bootloader because they made so many changes to the OS via root apps and the like.

Since your bootloader is already unlocked, I'm going to assume you already have ADB and Fastboot tools installed. If not, look for the link below as I've outlined that process before.

But once you're ready, go ahead and boot the Pixel 6 into Fastboot Mode (linked below too) and then execute the fastboot command as instructed.

It will only take a few seconds and a reboot back into Fastboot Mode before your Pixel 6 Pro bootloader has been locked again.

Now you just need to boot into Android and disable the OEM Unlocking toggle to complete this tutorial.

"You need to be running 100% stock firmware if you plan to lock the bootloader" << On Graphene OS it tells you to re-lock the bootloader after installation though ? so im confused here.

Any issues with rooting the Pixel 6 after the Jan update? I've been watching your videos as a guide and am planning to root, however I noticed there are some changes to the Jan update and changes to the latest Magisk that don't require verification to be disabled? Just curious how much this changes things? You seem like a great source for knowledgable info so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask here ;)

I am using google pixel 6. My phone's bootloader is unlocked and restarting every now and then. Is this problem due to bootloader unlock?

3 minutes 30 second to get to the point! Cut to the chase Pam!! Also fastboot needs to be run by super user on Linux - sudo fastboot etc.

My pixel 6 is currently not certified. Will locking the bootloader fix the problem?
