John PRINE IS AMAZING. Thank you for this. Please do Dear Abby, The Accident and Illegal Smile. And if you want a tear in your eyes do Sam Stone. The best storyteller in music EVER. The album cover you are showing has every song buy him you should play. The whole album is a masterpiece.

Paradise, Kentucky was an actual town that the Peabody Mining Company destroyed with its strip mine - the town (Paradise, Kentucky) doesn't exist anymore.

Yes, it's a fiddle you're hearing. It pleases me that you are tuned into John. He and Steve Goodman...worth their weight in gold.

This song is literaly a true story. The name of the town was Paradise and ir is now underwater, I wore out my first copy of this record.

I saw him live at a small university venue shortly after this album came out. Just him, his guitar, his voice and the hilarious comments which he interjected between songs. As far as I'm concerned, every song on this album is a classic... so dig deeper Harri! [RIP John]

John's appearance and voice as altered by cancer surgery. The miracle of all of it, is he still continued to record and perform after the changes. And it never made his music or sound "lesser."

As my favorite reviewer/reacter, I must ask you most sincerly to give a listen to Iris Dement's "Easy's Getting Harder Every Day" and or "You've Done Nothing Wrong". Both were written by her and are so heart touching. Much in the fashion of Jihn Prine, and done by here when she was very young. No idea where she found the pathos to write these.
Thank you, sir.

John Prine is sorely missed. Rooted in the toughness of the deep south nobody could write and sing his songs like he could, thank you Harry, this one was a real surprise!

Keep on doing the John Prine reactions. There's enough material to keep you busy for a long, long time. You'll laugh, cry, and scratch your head going "ah, shucks".

This is the first song I ever heard by John and I’ve been a fan ever since. When he died it was like losing an old friend.

No matter what Harri, your generosity is great to hear.

This song about strip mining in Muhlenberg Co KY, (Mister Peabody's coal train is the Peabody Coal Co that striped the coal in western KY), but most people don't pick up on the fact that it is a protest song because John wrote it as a loving memory from his childhood. It is more powerful because it doesn't come right out and attack the coal company, shows the sadness of what they took away from his youth. Prine was a master songwriter and storyteller.

This song on another level is about a father and a son trying to reconect, remembering back to a day they were close, but now might be "too late in asking." John Prime songs always seem to have two storie lines going on at the same time, the obvious one that strikes your ears, and the other one strikes at your heart.
