Jot is a brand that Dollar Tree carries and they aren't great pens. They have cotton fabric fat quarters which are pretty good quality if need to line anything. I haven't personally used the chalkboard paint but I have heard good things about it and the hardware section has decent paint and sponge brushes.

The way I was watching this and audibly gasped when I saw the general Amaya cosplay. I feel like I never see any TDP cosplays, I really want to cosplay Janai but her character look is so complexx

Agree fully - always keep an eye out to see what an item can be, not just it's intended purpose. A few examples:

My friend used the mesh tubing you found to make her Wonder Woman lasso. She slipped it over some plastic aquarium tubing for a little more durability then put a strand of DT's fairy lights inside to make it glow.

DT has some nice toy weapons that work well for various costumes. A couple coats of paint do wonders.

Just this year I used items found from DT - plastic condiment bottles, water guns, giant plastic food containers, colored duct tape- to create my Condiment King backpack. It held up very well and also provided plenty of storage space.

DT has a very nice foldable comb and mirror which I use for my wigs. You can also find a good selection of food options if you are like me and bring snacks to conventions.

I wish family dollar had stuff for less than $3 because the nearest dollar tree is like. Two cities away. Too far for me to walk. Whereas family dollar is literally a 10 minute walk from my house :( I my dad won’t let me buy things for other than my martial arts class despite being an adult and being allowed to buy whatever I want but he literally has my money and only gives me a little bit of it at a time
