deciling doesn, t make it a bad language. People usually find it too easy to do php and you know some stupids who follow this trend of php is dead . using js in backend is a pain and it still has flaws. Using php+lavarel is the best thing in the backend.Php is damn strong language.

simple logic:
if(learning first language): then it doesn't matter.
pick the one that you actually enjoy working with and start making projects. you will not use it professionally for the first couple of years anyway.
elseif(2nd language or higher): Then you already know that moving from one language to another is just a few projects away and as a seasoned developer you can adapt to a new language in the next project. just add 30% more time and you are fine

CONCLUSION: don't learn a language by whatever trends are being discussed by people that didn't code past hello world.
Just start a project and finish it in the language you enjoy writing code

Youtube, Facebook, WordPress and about 80% of the websites are using php so you can't say it's dying. The reason why php is less used this days is because there is new ways to do the backend of you're website like NodeJS

The trends on github dont really mean anything outside of more people have projects in other langauges, it doesnt mean that php is declining in popularity, it just means more people are using other langauges...however as others have pointed out, nodejs and others have some serous drawbacks, for one, you will need specific hosting for node and for even python...however php is a standard on just about EVERY web host, and lets face it, there are still thousands of websites that continue to run php and will continue to run php for the next 10 years.

15 years ago i left the php community because the others like node and python seemed like the future, however writing code in those other langauges has always felt backwards...sure it SOUNDS cool to write js on the front and backend....But there are several caveats....PHP is what we should be using for the next 20 years...nothing else has such a powerful ecosystem behind it....and looking into feels good to have such professional tools given to us, that has been forged over several years...check the laravel docs, amazingly well formatted and easy to find what you need...hands down php is the past and its our future, lets stop re-inventing the wheel already.

If you are a beginner or stuck in the console purgatory while learning general-purpose languages like Python, Java and C#, both PHP and JS are good options to learn programming without being lost. Contrary to the OP statement, PHP is stable, modern and popular in 2023. In the graph he use to disprove PHP as one of the best programming to learn in 2023, it holds the 7th place in the sea of programming languages. LOL

PHP is the COBOL of this generation. I wouldn't start anything new in it, but there are 10's of thousands of Wordpress and other blog sites out there built on it. Knowing it could give a person a career doing maintenance work. But anything web means you do need JavaScript, HTML, and CSS first.

Пыха отличный язык если ты пишешь код в деревне где нет ничего кроме этого, а так я бы взял Golang и возможно ещё утопический язык Будущего Python хоть он и дерьмо и у него нет будущего
