The first phase of the world's largest hydro-solar power plant, also the world's highest power station of its kind, entered full operation in southwest China's #Sichuan Province on Sunday. Upon full completion, the #Kela project's total installed capacity scale will exceed 100 million kilowatts, with annual power generation of around 300 billion kWh, sufficient to serve 100 million households for a year.

American: this is a spying station which threats our national security becuz it's absorbing too much solar energy which should have landed down to America😂

That's neat. With a combination of both you get continuous power generation.

Good job Сhina! Great to see you keep on marching forward on your green path. And indeed, the world is literally a greener place than it was 20 years ago and data from NASA satellites clearly shows that the source for much of this new foliage is none other but China. Together with India's new farms, China's newly planted forestry account for one-third of the world greening. China’s contribution to the global greening comes in large part (42%) from its programs to conserve and expand forests which were developed in an effort to reduce the effects of soil erosion, air pollution and climate change. China has planted more than 66 billion trees since 1978 and continue expanding on that program.

Very good, China can use some of the vast desert it has to also build solar power stations - there is giga watts of potential there and the shade provided by the panels could even be used for other things. There is so much yet to do.

This makes sense. One cannot have a transmission line carrying peak electrical in the day time and nothing in the night. I suppose this solar farm is in isolated area that the nearest power generation is the hydro station so it can be conveniently packaged with it. This makes the transmission system more efficient.

If you keep an eye on Beijing's sky, the improvement of China's environment in the past two decades is obvious. No other country in the world can compare with it in the innovation and use of new energy.

Production of renewable energy is one aspect, but more efficient home appliances is another long term route to energy security.

This solar farm is enough to power the entire Australian population at least 4 times over. Not bad!

enough to supply 100 million households? then we only need a handful of these! bravo!!
