That rule doesnt apply for this track. It’s in the rule book. FIa made a mistake, Mclaren reminded them and they quickly realized their mistake. It’s a quick fix easy fix.

Dude, it was because every track had pre-written rules, whether to delete the lap or not if you go outside the last corner. Shanghai did not. It's because of the track layout. Not every time a driver goes outside the track limit is an advantage.

This video is misinformation. There's no rule thay says that leaving track limits on the last turn invalidates your next lap.

Some tracks, which do NOT include Shanghai, have that rule. The FIA reinstated the lap not because "he didnt gain an advantage" (that's irrelevant), but simply because the stewards had applied a rule that, for this track, doesn't exist.

The lap was "deleted" and it was a 2.00.8 ...but the lap after was clean and that was a 1.57.9 and so thats the lap that stood so it wouldve been unfair to have that time deleted
