On the other corner is the prominent and solid American, the Jeep Compass. Both have a similar, oh wait, same powertrain - a 4x2 Automatic. Which is the one for you though? I own a Trailhawk. The Jeep is a more premium product, with tank-like build quality, and a timeless design. It is meant for the more discerning, quality conscious buyer. Plus, in its 4x4 guise (as my Trailhawk) it can go places where no Harrier can reach.

Even after getting the engine from Jeep, automatic transmission from Hyundai and the platform from Land Rover, Tata is unable to do a decent job in integrating the platform, engine and transmission. Like all Tata products, Harrier is a shoddy execution of otherwise brilliant individual constituents.

The Compass offers an extremely upmarket and premium package overall.
My ownership experience of the Compass Black Shark over the past one year has been exemplary.

It has all the electronic and electric gizmos that you would use practically on a daily basis, and it doesn’t feel lacking in any department in that respect.
It is a purely driver centric SUV which will put a smile on your face every time you sit behind that wheel.
I love the Compass and wouldn’t trade it in for anything else…too bad more folks aren’t buying it; I guess the price is a tad high for most people to take the plunge and get one.

Harrier is much better in new look and road presence and incomparable with Jeep compass (massive 19" wheel stands out in Harrier is one of the part of look and many others).. Jeep compass, we are seeing this design since years !!
