The hose and tunnel that leads up to our roof, is not clogged. It's never been cleaned, but it's not clogged. There is plenty of room for air and lint to pass. From the attic we are able to see the whole thing. However when I unhook the hose from the wall, my dryer actually works correctly. When I hook it back up to the wall, it takes three cycles for it to dry our clothes. Any suggestions?

Thank you so much for the tips. . I had an issue with my dryer not drying and leaking water below, but it does heat up. Followed your tips, and you are 100% correct, the exterior vent full of debris and clogged. Cleaned it and the dryer works smoothly.

little plastic cover on my exterior vent broke off. i shoved it back up inside the hood a while back. clothes haven't been drying properly for a month or two. i check the vent outside.... when i shoved that cover back up inside there i closed the vent door. lol so my dryer is breathing correctly again
