I’ve been in menopause since I was 37. I’m 54. HRT saved me. I’m going to stay on it as long as I can. The plus is I haven’t had a period since I was 37.

I have been in menopause for 8 years and I don't care about the hot flushes I gained 3 stone, worked my arse of to lose it, ate well and then bam osteoarthritis, overwhelming tiredness.... I'm now nearly back up to that weight again and thoroughly I am not a glass half empty person but this shit is real and sometimes some women just suffer

I don’t believe it’s about perception. I was drastically impacted not knowing that I was peri menopausal. Several years of poor sleep, hot flushes and brain fog. The only thing that helped was HRT. I wish I had known earlier. Thank God for HRT.

I agree that all women are different and mindset only is not enough to deal with any ailment in our lives. Yes, mindset is crucial, as well as diet, good relationships (like a loving husband who thinks you are a Goddess) etc. Not everyone has the same conditions. In Japan women eat different diet with a lot of phytoestrogens and are actively supported by their families which they also actively support. I am getting 43 in 20 days and I also plan to sail through menopause with almost no symptoms and great sex. Actually, there is someone who finds me extremely attractive and when we get together, there will be nothing stopping us. But not all women are in this situation. Let's respect their experience too.

This was a very nice approach for me today. I had a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago Thursday. It was not because of cancer but chronic hemmoraging due to a large fibroid. I feel so much better, but have been asked if I feel less like a woman or your sex is going down the tubes now. So far, my skin cleared up, I lost 6 pounds and I'm hopeful to be cleared for sex the 14th. You helped me to feel "normalized" in feeling happy for these changes. Gratitude!

Disagree. I had no pre-conceptions of the menaupause Now, nothing seems to helps hot flashes, even if I don’t think about them. Japoneses women eat a lot of soya beans therefore the lack of symptoms.

Bioidentical hormones (never not bioidentical), end of all suffering, and of course, my thoughts, low carb meals, meditation. Just wonderful menopause, so much learning

I love you, Marissa, always so refreshing to have an adult in the room. The mindset of menopause works; between you and the sleep doctor, I'm back on track for a wonderful night's sleep, no hot flashes. The only thing that has worked in the last year is the mindset.

I needed to hear this so much, thank you 😊.. I'm 45 and had a hysterectomy 9 years ago and I've been going through some form of hormonal lunacy for years.. But without a period I have no clue if I'm menopausal or not.. I am not able to take HRT due to me having a stroke in my 20's.. So Ive given up wondering and driving myself nuts and everyone else in the process.. I am changing my diet, adding exercise and 'me time' along with future travel plans into my life, and focus on those things and try to enjoy life again 😊

Thanks Marisa. I'm in a 52 year old body and have had no hot flushes that I'm aware of so far. I actually have no interest in sex and haven't had a partner for about 16 years, which is fine by me. So any low libido is not a problem, but rather a blessing. I still have pretty regular periods, shorter than they used to be, and can tell when one is coming due to spots appearing on my face. I also notice feeling somewhat depressed and/or teary around the same time as the spots (not because of them :) ) and then the low mood lifts when the period arrives. So there is clearly some hormone activity going on, leading to mood swings. When I'm feeling low, I remind myself of the natural monthly cycle and that already helps me accept what's happening. I also try adding some foods that are recommended for balancing hormones, such as pineapple and organic tofu or soya yogurt. And I do yoga and meditation regularly, and know that sleep patterns and food choices will make a difference to my moods. Funnily enough, eating a whole tub of (vegan) ice-cream on top of an embellished (vegan) pizza when I'm feeling miserable does not make me feel better, just gives me a tummy-ache, fat belly and long visit to the loo the next morning! You didn't talk so specifically about mood swings in this video, but I heartily agree with your underlying premise that it's how we look at situations mentally and the choices we allow ourselves to make from our thoughts, that make all the difference as to how we experience something - whether it feels like a positive or negative or neutral experience is up to us. Thanks again, bless your kind heart in sharing this vital information and education with the world. xo
