Here are 5 things I think landscape photographers, adventure photographers and all other kinds of outdoor photographers could benefit from doing, from the day before going out to get photos to while you're out shooting. If you can think of any more - let me know :)

Congratulations. As to advice, parenting is like photography, everyone has an opinion on how you should do it but you should do what feels right for you and your family. All the very best.

I found myself shouting at my TV "there! Turn around! It's out again!!" 😆

Literally most stressful video yet I've been screaming "its behind you" like I'm at a panto when you were trying to get a shot of the top of the mountain. Never the less very fun watch as always.

Congratulations on the baby!! The best advice is to not listen to any advice. Everyone does things differently and just do what fits better your lifestyle and values.

Congrats!!! I got an advice, when my first kid was 2-3 months old, and we literally slept nothing: the bigger the kid, the bigger the problem :) And the joy. And the bills. But newer mind, it is fun really. Lock your office door, make lots of videos before august, and sleep. Sleep a lot! And buy bigger storage for baby photoes.

Congratulations on the baby mate. I also always get my gear ready the day before. Everything charged and in my bag ready to go because I used to always forget something if I was leaving early. Thanks for the tips mate 👍

The way you shared your good news was just about as smooth and deadpan as I've ever seen. Delivery is everything (pun intended). Congratulations James. You two will do great. I'm sure of it.

Great video James. The advice you asked for: Don’t change your lives, we did and somehow regret it. The little one will “appreciate” you both more if you go ahead and spend your days in the same “boring” manner (for you it might be, for him everything is new and consequently exciting). Be safe and congratulations 🎊🎉🍾.

Of all the sites that deal with advice for photographers, I find this one the most helpful. Straight forward, practical and sensible. I appreciate the site and thank you for bringing it to us.

Congratulations James and Emily! Most important bit of advice anyone can give is that secretly... No one knows what they're doing! Everyone wings it. But it's important to both agree and or find a happy medium

What an awesome way to announce that you’re growing the family and becoming a dad. It was so smooth.

Congratulations to your family and especially your new assistant!

Advice....don’t over think or over analyze. As long as mom and dad have a great bond first, everything will be fine.

Mister James you are so adorable when you see a awesome shot and you get excited LOL.

Congratulations on the baby. Remember children are a gift from God!

An unsolicited one to go along with your ‘know your camera tip’; when you are out there shooting in manual mode, based on current lighting situation there is a general setting for most of the shots that you set your camera for, sometimes you tweak settings for a particular shot so after taking that shot always revert to the general exposure setting (iso shutter speed and aperture) else one might end up under or over exposing next shot that quickly popped up and fixing that in Post could be a nightmare.

Congratulations on your new assistant. They will be excellent for getting you up really early in the morning, but they might not allow you to leave at the time you want to. Also, you could possibly forget what a good night's sleep actually is like.

Congratulations on the pregnancy!
I had my first child 5 weeks and 6 days ago. Here’s some advice I’ve learnt so far.

Breastfeed is good.
If you decide to bottle feed get a Baby Prep machine which helps prepare a bottle in under two minutes. Great for night feeds.
Get baby used to crib straight away and don’t hold them too much, this will come in handy later as they wouldn’t need too much attention.
Aldi nappies are cheap and very good. Heard similar things about their wipes but haven’t tested them out yet.
Make a list of things you’ll need and get family members and friends choose what to get you or you’ll get duplicate items.

Can’t think of anything else but the experience is surreal and I’ve heard it doesn’t sink in for months, maybe years

James, I am so happy for you and Emily!! Congratulations! You really rocked me back in my chair when you just pull out the ultrasound... LOL! You are both going to be great parents! I just know it. We couldn't have our own and so God set us on the adoption path. I can tell you James, there is no rule book. Not saying that you shouldn't read or go to classes mind you, but we learned (and still do... our daughter is 17 yrs old now) to just live each precious moment and instill in that little one all that you know and love. Anyway, I have no doubt that you will be fantastic parents and that your little one will be richer for having you. Many blessings to you both. Cheers!

Congratulations! Our little one was born last September, it's been a fun, exhausting and messy 8 months! Savour every moment, as cliché as it's sounds they really do grow so fast.
