Melting and pouring scrap gold

Hey guys Eli here and I’ll today’s video I’m gonna be doing something fun I’m going to be melting over 400 g of scrap gold and turning them into poured bars. My local coin shop owner gave me 400 g of scrap gold which contains gold plated items , Some 24 karat gold some 18 karat gold some 14 karat gold. We’re going to melt it all down and get some nice Poured gold bars. I did run into some technical difficulties but I got it done sort of. After that I’m gonna let my corn shop owner examine what was done and get his expertise on it

That was interesting. It is pretty cool that a Coin Shop would actually take that even if it is mixed with Silver and gold and such....now the question is once you sell it to them, are they then going to sell it to a customer (buyer)?

you needed to do a acid wash ( a refine) before smelting.

U gotta take all the junk off the jewelry thats not gold like stones especially! Someone I know was taking scrap Gold to be melted and they let me pop all the stones out and keep I ended up with 45 diamonds 💎 and multiple sapphires and other various precious stones that would have just been ruined in the furnace! Plus it makes a cleaner gold bar.
