It surprises me when car journalists say a 40K car is affordable. I consider myself middle class here in Canada and can tell you that purchasing a vehicle for over 1/3 of my yearly salary is definitely unaffordable, when considering all the other living expenses I have to pay.

That new Benz has a ton of stuff that's trickled down from the S550, including the infotainment input. All the controls are at your fingertips, it's quiet but still maintains that weighted steering feel of a European car. Really going to be a good seller.

I know I've touched on this subject before, but it bears repeating; where are the family friendly US saloons ? It's O.K. producing ridiculous performance cars, but, if you want to be a major worldwide car maker, you've got to have a broad base of ' bread and butter ' cars. Hellcats, Vettes and Z/28's won't get the job done.

Or are you mesmerized by the $1.5 million, 750+ horsepower while ignoring that overly busy interior done "for art's sake"? It reminds me of those that fan boy over the Veyron. Im sorry Roman, but I have to disagree with you on that the Ford Mustang is the most iconic American Car. Here down under when we think of American cars (colloquially known as Yank Tanks) we think of cars such as the Ford Country Squire or the Queen Victoria or a mini van. I will say that i am exicted that we will finally have the Mustang back when it hits our showrooms next year, it looks awesome.

A hellcat will not blow away most super cars and hyper cars. GTR, Huyara, aventador, 650S, P1, Veyron SS, 918 Spyder, Laferarri, Apollo S, Atom V8, SLR, Keonigsegg, and dare I say probably even a GT3RS would all stomp it at say a half mile drag. Yes they are more expensive but be more realistic about what the hellcat can actually do, and what it goes up against, like the M5, M3, 911, R8, etc. (end rant)
