A lot of people like to push the narrative that you can accomplish anything with hard work. But the thing is that luck plays a bigger part in it. A lot of people slave away handling multiple jobs and still are worse off than others who work not even half as much.

Listen I am Ukrainian too. Came here when I was 20 with a small child no English. Now I have 3 kids, I am a nurse my husband has a small family business and I am 40. It’s hard but possible.

I've been here 22 years, came here as a child, my mom is originally from here and I have literally no family in the country I was born (Peru) so I totally understand her. Living here is extremely expensive, I wouldn't go back either but this is not a paradise, you just have to work hard and that's pretty much it.
