Correction: iPad Pro 12.9 gen 2 also has 600 nits/120hz. So only difference between 10.5 and 12.9 is size (and price) :)

As a musician, I'd benefit greatly from the 12.9" iPad because then I'd be able to view the score close to the size of an A4 sheet of paper. I bought an iPad Air for the purpose of reading sheet music, but it's useless because of it's size

The whole reason that the 12.9 is so good is having two apps in split screen. I use notability and PDF expert when making notes about the PDF and you'd struggle on anything smaller! Note I said about not on the PDF which is fine on any model.

The larger display is actually quite important to some artists. For people reading scientific papers or sheet music, it's size being near A4 size also a bonus. Then again, some people prefer the greater portability of the smaller one.

tl;dr: There's more to display size than just being "a little bit bigger".

12.9" Pro is for people who want the extra screen size for the Apple Pencil use. Whether that's for artwork (bigger 'canvas') or note taking (more 'paper' to write on), the extra screen size makes a difference.

The 12.9 version has also had the same spec update as the new one just the bezel size is the difference apart from the smaller size. Bezels or no bezels it's just aesthetics and rather superficial as it is a work device and less bezels have no advantage apart from smaller footprint, but as I hold my 12.9 iPad those bezels are quite useful in landscape mode. Anyway both Pros have the same specs so there is no reason to not choose the larger one. You get a bigger screen and bigger battery for your money and for multitasking split screens give you a much bigger palette. In fact I see the largest iPad Pro as the de facto choice and suggest that is the better bet.

I've got the Ipad Air 2 and I want to upgrade to the 10.5 but I think I'll at least hold out until IOS 11 is released to consumers to check the effects on the Air 2 & I don't see the pro model being that useful until the release of IOS 11, anyway.

Quality video as always! I've just sold my 2013 MBPr to use this instead as my day to day device, and about to invest in an Alienware 15 R3 as my workhorse device for CAD software etc.

Is it, in your opinion, truly worth the 600 odd pounds?
