i used to volunteer at a bird shelter in Tucson AZ and we had roadrunners in all of the time. I have a lot of experience handling and feeding them. fun fact; when handling a roadrunner, its very very important that you do not grab their tails because as a defense mechanism, their tail feathers pull out very easily. if a predator ever tries to grab them by their tails, they are left with a mouth full of feathers and the roadrunner runs away unharmed. their tail feathers do grow back but it take a long time and because roadrunners use their tail feathers for communication and attracting a mate, a tailless roadrunner has little chance breeding that season.

I had an old giant satellite dish and once caught an adorable road runner skating back and forth like he was on a skateboard ramp! And he did this for a long time. It was so freaking cool!! ❤
