WX-78 LORE — Don't Starve Together [Quick Summary]

We very very very briefly cover what new lore was given from WX-78's character animatic!

Guess WX has an interesting tragic backstory after all, I always thought he was just a sadistic evil robot lol

I would call this an animation rather than an animatic(which is typically used for planning animations for large videos) but I get what you mean, have a nice day and you made some excellent points

theres something you missed! in the flickering transition before they argue, there's some hidden text (haven't had a chance to piece it together yet, but it seems to be about the same as the stuff back in the William carter puzzles) and a few frames of WX building three robots, those robots are the ones wagstaff is shown burning. (edit: for some reason my brain didn't realize you showed them lol)

also, heres a list of background details from a comment I left on the animation

ist of background details ive found in this amazing short:

The survivors were fighting pigs, who seemingly raided them for whatever reason

Their base's wall was torn down (presumably by pigs)

the Schematics of WX are all similar to their survivor screen in DS

Wagstaff and WX are working on the portal shown in next of kin

A paper of WX shows his "unfinished": skin

theres some text hidden in every flickering transition, as well as an image of another robot being built (maybe three?), very different to WXs own design

in the scene following this, it shows wagstaff angry at WX, with the later throwing a empathy module with torn wires (implicating it was torn out)

wagstaff is burning the robots shown for a frame in the flickering transition

Wigfrid doesn't have a bandage on. Maybe she tore it off?

See any more? Anyone remember how to stitch the text together like we did in the William carter puzzles? I forgot lol.

Zeklo! So happy to see you post some lore again!

Speculation on who the person is? Just an assistant? If you look at the flash of his WX face after the transformation the hair looks a ton like Wagstaffs, so, sibling? I’d speculate wagstaff himself tried to duplicate his consciousness but it’s not in line with any of WXs quotes toward him.

maybe Wagstaff copied partically he's indentety in to WX helping him work on projects with same intellect and understandig what they doing. And because of that WX had the idea of making new robot like him to help work like Wagstaff did because they share same indentety?

The wiki says that some of WX-78’s files are listed as Woodrow. Hmmmm?

I really hope that, if WX78 ever appears in their human form, they're still non-binary
