Adventure Racing World Championship 2023 - Kouga - South Africa

For the first time in it's 20 year history the Adventure Racing World Championship was hosted in Africa in 2023.

Expedition Africa was the host race and the 900km course was set in the Kouga region, with teams racing non-stop over 9 days through the magnificent scenery of the Eastern Cape.

The race attracted competitors from 30 countries and was a celebration of Africa, Adventure Racing and the human spirit!

"216 Hours" is the story of this inspirational and empowering sporting event.

FINALLY!!! Just walked 500 k on the Camino de Santiago for 3 weeks and now
am blessed because again got wonderful footage of AR to watch while I travel home bound 2000 km. Through western Europe. Sadly had to stop because of a broken angle but will be back someday to end my adventure.
Very happy to see the athletes again and looking forward Arthur the King to be released in Germany this month.

While this was a nicely put together film, it is a pity that it completely neglected the actual racing side of things but covering the top teams. This was an exciting race to follow with some great battles up front. It's a pity the film missed this. Extending it from 40min to 1 hour and including the top teams would really made it a great watch.

"...Exceptional teamwork, mental fortitude and strategic planning...". They forgot to add "and deep pockets".This truly is an activity for millionaires. Just the cycling and climbing equipment per participant would cost thousands of US dollars. Add in navigation, trekking and kayaking and you are bordering 5 figures. Although, I must say, it is a nice way to spend your money
