The EASIEST Way to Install a Window Air Conditioner

The easiest way to install a window air conditioner on a horizontal slide window. No brackets or supports needed, just one metal rod. In this video I show an example of how to insert the window AC and secure it in place using a 3/8" steel rod. Very convenient way to install a window A/C without having to install an additional bracket. You can get the non-adhesive weather stripping and metal rod that I talked about in the video on Amazon as well:

All of my windows are horizontal sliders. I thought I'd never be able to use a window A/C. After seeing this I am now hopeful. Especially since we are so far north we only need A/C about 7-14 days a year. Thx for doing this and sharing it with us.

I’ve always visualized how to install a window unit in a horizontal slider, this hits the nail on the head. One thing to consider though, you have to make sure your window opens wide enough to accommodate the unit. Some windows, (very few) are too narrow for a standard AC.
BTW: For a good chuckle video on how NOT to install a window AC, there’s a Seinfeld YT titled “Kramer Installs An AC. It’ll make you laugh and cringe at the same time.

My AC motor ran for a few days then stop. Motor won't run again when call for ac. I let it rest for a couple days then it works again. It has been like that for the last 2 months. Can you help me solve this problem. Thanks a million. It's a central air I am talking about. ( NOT WINDOW UNIT)c
