I had some le2 and they would spin on wet pavement. I always had snow tires on during the winter because I would not trust them in snow. Smooth and quiet on dry pavement though.

I purchased the Terrain Contact HT based on the wet weather test info. One thing I failed to consider is hydroplane capability. Now that I have 7/32nds tread on the HT they hydroplane on standing water on my sequoia easy. The light wet grip is great. I’m now looking to replace with something with open shoulder tread blocks. I think the closed shoulder blocks that help with sound trap the water in and are causing my issue. Anyone have any feedback on hitting standing water at highway speed with the Le3? I don’t want to have to spend almost $300 per tire for the Defender.

Do you really have to wait until it's winter in the USA to test tires or can't you go some place where it's already snowing or just cold weather?
